Job Description :
Our client is seeking a VP of Finance to provide financial management, strategic planning and oversight for all company financial and personnel aspects including budgeting, long-term forecasting, company financing, and cash management along with financial compliance


  • Be a true business partner to the CEO, assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and company’s long-term strategy

  • Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations

  • Assist in establishing yearly objectives and selecting and engaging outside consultants

  • Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with company’s strategic plan

  • Business acumen and strategic agility to be able to plan, lead, and drive change at the company while meeting or exceeding business objectives

Executive Management

  • Serve as a member of executive leadership team

  • Participate in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating models and operational execution

  • Member of the Business Continuity Team as outlined in the company’s Business Continuity Plan

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Prepare and maintain regular financial planning reports

  • Complete analysis of financial results; Develop recommendations (strategic and tactical)

  • Develop and execute analysis of various business initiatives

  • Assist in development of financial planning and analysis exercises/reports

  • Participate in lender discussions



  • Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed

  • Oversee cash, investment, and asset management

  • Oversee financing strategies and activities, as well as banking relationships

  • Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans


Planning, Policy, and Investor Relations

  • Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets

  • Develop financial business plans and forecasts

  • Participate in corporate policy development as a member of the senior management team

  • Engage the CEO to develop short-, medium-, and long-term financial plans and projections

  • Represent the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, investors, foundation executives, auditors, public officials, etc.


Accounting and Administration

  • Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and function

  • Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures

  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting for federal and state reporting requirements

  • Oversee the preparation and communication of all  financial statements

  • Coordinate proper filing of tax returns and work with Controller on coordinating financial review(s)

  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions


Team Management

  • Mentor and develop a direct team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic

Accounting Activities

  • Oversee preparation of month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements

  • Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocation

  • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems

  • Serve as final point of escalation for Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable issues


Insurance/Real Estate/Legal Affairs

  • Manage the company’s insurance policies, including commercial insurance and also health benefits

  • Manage the company’s real estate affairs consisting of leases and sub-leases with various 

  • Manage the company’s legal affairs when required


Compliance and Information Security

  • Responsible for following all policies and procedures related to security controls for the protection of personal or sensitive data

  • Provide recommendations for improvements of the company’s security controls

  • Ensure the integration of the information security management system (ISMS) requirements into the organization’s processes

  • Ensure that the resources needed for information security management system are available

  • Communicate the importance of effective information security management and of conforming to the information security management system requirements

  • Ensure that the information security management system achieves its intended outcome(s)

  • Direct and support persons to contribute to the effectiveness of the information security management system

  • Promote continual improvement of the information security of the company

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy

  • An active CPA license and/or MBA preferred

  • Ten to twelve (10-12) years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles

  • Five (5) years of team management experience

  • Experience working with information technology staff to manage finance and accounting software packages – Accumatica software knowledge specifically preferred

  • Experience in a senior financial-management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies

  • Service Industry Background preferred
