Job Description :

Utilizing hands-on accounting experience with an in-depth understanding of accounting principles and best company practices, you will work alongside high-integrity colleagues in a fast-paced public company environment. This full-time position will be responsible for taking ownership of several reporting functions related to general accounting activities including analyzing complex financial reports and records, making recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets, and expenditures, reviewing journal entries of junior accountants to ensure accuracy, documenting and monitoring internal controls, training and mentoring of junior staff, and coordinating more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team.

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings of general ledger in accordance with GAAP ensuring deadlines are achieved

  • Prepare and review assigned journal entries associated with the monthly close process.

  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations

  • Prepare and review work-papers and variance analyses

  • Prepare and review schedules pursuant to lease agreements and amortization schedules

  • Maintain an efficient and appropriate control environment in accordance with SOX

  • Assist auditors with documentation and workpapers as well as being a key point of contact during quarterly and yearly audits

  • Ensure the accuracy, usefulness and timeliness of financial statements provided to management and external auditors

  • Support and improve business processes and accounting systems by working cross functionally to identify key areas for quality and efficiency enhancement and the automation of the accounting activities and processes

  • Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff

  • Research, interpret and ensure compliance with GAAP in all aspects of accounting and financial reporting

  • Collaborate with the Financial Planning and Analysis team on various projects including departmental coding, budget variance explanations, etc. when needed

  • Assist with and oversee special projects and requests as needed.


Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field, required

  • CPA required

  • Big 4 experience preferred

  • 4+ years’ accounting experience, with at least 2 years of experience as a senior accountant or related role, preferred

  • Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting in a public company environment

  • Experience in research and application of technical accounting matters

  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and other colleagues, demonstrating initiative and mature judgment

  • Proven ability to timely and accurately meet daily, monthly, and quarterly deliverables

  • Strong communication (verbal and written)

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to remain highly organized in a deadline driven environment while maintaining strict attention to detail

  • Advanced level Excel skills

  • A combination of public and corporate accounting experience is preferred

  • Experience working in a SOX 404 compliant environment is preferred

  • Experience using Oracle Enterprise Application and Blackline is preferred
