Our client is  is seeking a Temporary Accountant to join their team from December 2023 through May 2024, covering for maternity leave. This role includes managing accounts payable, handling deposits, generating general ledger entries, conducting monthly bank reconciliations, and participating in their month-end close process. The successful candidate will begin in early December for cross-training with the current accountant to ensure a seamless transition.

Location: South Nashville, off Franklin Road just south of Harding Pike.

Timing/Duration: Start with cross training in Dec., cover maternity leave from Tuesday, Jan. 7th through end of winter/spring semester in May.

Schedule: 30-40 hours per week. Note, the school takes off for Spring Break from March 10th-14th.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days in office/week; must be onsite for training in December (ASAP – 12/19).

• Minimum of three years' experience in general ledger accounting.


• Independent worker with meticulous attention to detail.


• Intermediate proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables.


• Ability to integrate and conform to the values of a Christian school environment; background and fingerprint checks are mandatory.


• Knowledge of fund accounting and familiarity with Veracross or Blackbaud platforms are advantageous but not required.
