Job Description :
Our client in Brentwood, TN has an immediate need for a temp-perm Senior Accountant. 

The role of Senior Accountant is responsible for general accounting functions including financial reporting of practice operations, assisting with audit and regulatory reporting, operational reporting, as well as ad hoc reporting and process improvement project management. The ideal candidate would be a self-directed individual who adapts readily and easily to changes in priorities and business conditions. They should have a hands-on style with ability to dig into details.


 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


 



  • Bank reconciliation functions, posting journal entries, and month end processing

  • Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records. Reports inconsistencies to higher level associates.

  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.

  • Preparation of general ledger account reconciliations

  • Prepares schedules with supporting documentation to external auditors

  • Responsible for comparing accounting system outputs with daily input verifying for accuracy and resolves discrepancies.

  • Assists in preparation of financial and operating reports including trial balances, adjustments and closing entries.

  • Reviews accounts payable invoices to ensure they are coded to the right account/department.

  • Interact with management and other departments for obtaining approvals for processing.

  • Manage Fixed Assets

  • Performs other duties as assigned.




Required Qualifications :

Education and/or Experience


 


 



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

  • CPA or MBA a plus

  • 4 + years of related experience and/or training

  • Prior healthcare industry experience strongly preferred

  • Working knowledge of General Ledgers and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.     

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel

  • Attention to detail; strong written and oral communications skills

  • Excellent understanding of end to end transaction activities across Accounting processes.

  • Knowledge of internal controls, compliance and auditing

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information, such as patient and company files.
