Job Description :
Our client ins Brentwood is seeking a Supervisor of Derivative Accounting to supervise the  accounting team members and assist Accounting Managers and/or Directors in establishing and monitoring various KPI's for the accounting group.
Responsibilities include:


  • Monthly accounting closing process and applying best practices in the close process and reporting accounting results. 

  • Supervise and review monthly entries related to derivative accounting  (e.g. mark-to-market entries, accrued interests etc.). Analyze effectiveness and keep records of compliance with US GAAP

  • Calculate and prepare monthly entries related to derivative accounting for RIN’s (Renewable Identification Numbers)

  • Maintain internal controls and procedures to ensure effective risk management and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley § 404

  • Directly supervises accounting team members/process, including monitoring the accounting close schedule and team close assignments

  • Assist the Accounting Manager with developing internal customer relations with all Departments across all subsidiaries along with any related accounting and vendor relationships 

  • Reviews certain accounting general journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations for completeness and accuracy, ensuring that reconciling items are being addressed timely

  • Performs complex accounting tasks and related transaction reviews for proper accounting treatment

  • Execute process improvement initiatives maintaining a continuous improvement environment.

  • Assists with external and internal auditors to coordinate the annual audit, quarterly reviews and any corporate internal audit projects.  Provides information and auditing schedules to the auditors as needed.


Required Qualifications :


  • At least 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in an Accounting with experience in a leadership role

  • Derivative accounting experience

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required

  • CPA designation preferred

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral

  • Drive, high energy, maturity and ability to work under pressure and deliver results

  • Ability to identify process improvements

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • SAP, RightAngle and Blackline experience a plus
