Job Description :
Our healthcare client is seeking a Staff or Senior Accountant with three years' progressive experience in accounting. 
Job duties include:



  • Prepares/maintains Balance Sheet account analysis

  • Performs ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed

  • Acts a Controller/CFO and financial liaison to hospital and interacts extensively with CEO

  • Prepares interim and year end audit schedules and responds to audit inquiries for the hospitals they close

  • Prepares cost reporting information for external vendor as directed

  • Assists with budgets and planning as directed

  •  Perform the monthly close for hospitals which includes creating and posting all standard journal entries for expenses items, expense review for appropriate intercompany coding, creating non-standard entries for manual accruals as appropriate, evaluating accounts receivable and calculating contractual needed on accounts receivable

  • Assist with preparation of monthly operation review packages distributed to upper management explaining monthly activity and trending analysis

  •  Review bi-weekly payroll to ensure appropriate application of corporate policies and accurate payment

  • Review payroll entries prepared by payroll account for accuracy; perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and assist in preparation of annual financial audit and cost report filings work papers.

  • Prepare property, gross receipts tax, sale/use tax, and/or other tax filings and check requests in accordance with regulatory body’s stated timelines

  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, ability to interpret, implement and comply with GAAP, corporate and departmental policies and procedures during month-end close, variance analysis, and balance sheet account analysis.

  • Identify material budget and trended variances, including the identification and preparation of corrections or accruals if needed. 

  • Analyze and articulate variances to hospital personnel, Financial Operations, and varying levels of Executive Management.

  •  Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.

  • Ensure month-end close procedures are completed accurately, on schedule and in accordance with GAAP and Haven accounting policies.

  • Complete variance analysis and prepare explanations     

  • Prepare/distribute MOR packages to varying levels of Management.

  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations accurately and timely, including the identification and preparation of corrections if necessary.



Required Qualifications :


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred, Finance or Business degrees considered with requisite experience

  • CPA or pursuing CPA preferred

  • Three years’ progressive experience in accounting, with healthcare experience preferred. Knowledge of healthcare receivables and allowances preferred.  Experience with month-end close and variance analysis required.

  •  Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
