Job Description :
Direct Hire - Fully Remote! Knoxville-based specialty Financial Services company has an immediate need for a Staff Accountant. Salary $60-70K plus bonus potential.
***CANDIDATES MUST LIVE IN TN, GA, AL or NC***
Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping and Accounting
o Record all insurance policies, prepare premium invoices, and record premium payments
o Record all operating expenses and make all expense payments
o Record all claims reserves, adjustments, and payments
o Record all entries relative to investments, loans, and distributions
o Prepare monthly reconciliations for all bank and investment accounts
o Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements
o Assist CPA's with annual audits & tax related filings
o Assist Actuaries with annual actuarial reserve opinions
Client Services
o Coordinate responses to all inbound client inquiries and requests
o Calculate and provide amounts available for investment on a quarterly basis
o Prepare annual meeting agenda packages and attend annual meetings
o Take and distribute annual meeting minutes for signature
o Maintain accurate client records
Regulatory Compliance
o Coordinate responses to all inbound regulatory inquiries and requests
o Prepare and coordinate the filing of all required regulatory reports
o Coordinate the approval of all distribution and loan requests
o Coordinate changes in business plan and other documents as needed
Required Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
***CANDIDATES MUST LIVE IN TN, GA, AL or NC***
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• 3-4 years of experience providing accounting services to multiple clients
• Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and experience applying GAAP standards
• Experience with QuickBooks (desktop version) strongly preferred
• Experience with MS Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel
