Job Description :
Our client is currently seeking a Staff Accountant join our accounting team at our global headquarters in Nashville, TN. This team member’s role will be responsible for full cycle accounting for one of our remote sites, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory tracking, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close. This position will also assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable processes for the Nashville location. Attention to detail, strong communication, and a willingness to learn are the keys to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Perform daily activities related to the accounts receivable process for the remote site and Nashville location – posting cash receipts in the accounting software and managing collection efforts for delinquent customer accounts.
- Perform daily activities related to the accounts payable process for the remote site and Nashville location – entering invoices for payment in the accounting software and preparing weekly check runs.
- Tracking raw materials in the accounting system, from purchase to production.
- Complete recording of all inventory production activity.
- Enter sales orders in the accounting software and invoice customers for the remote site.
- Process and reconcile expense reports and employee reimbursements.
- File sales tax returns for the appropriate states.
- Maintain product, supplier, and customer records in the accounting software.
- Prepare accounting related entries to registers and journals.
- Maintain detailed reconciliations of major balance sheet accounts.
- Communicate via email and telephone with remote sites and customers.
- Work with individuals up and down the chain of command to meet the expectations of timely and quality financial reporting.
- Follow company’s established accounting policies.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
- Strong practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and IF statements required.
- Strong understanding of the conceptual framework of accounting.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
