Job Description :

This position will support the accounting of our client's domestic businesses heavily weighted toward analysis and account reconciliations. This will include Cash transactions, reconciliations, and other full cycle accounting functions including month-end close, reporting, analysis and settlements. The Staff Accountant has a good working knowledge of account reconciliations including banking transactions.


 


How You Will Make a Difference:



  • Ensure amounts in general ledger represent valid assets/liabilities of the Company.

  • Able to explain activities in preparation of a balance sheet review with management.

  • Own monthly journal entries for respective account ownership such as Insurance expense as related to Prepaid Insurance.

  • Ensure cash amounts in general ledger reconcile with actual bank balance.

  • Research discrepancies and explore resolutions.

  • Monitor banking activities to detect irregularities.

  • Work with Finance team to post transactions recording movement of cash and cash receipts/payments.

  • Prepare reconciliation of monthly cash accounts

  • Follow company policies regarding safeguarding of cash and internal controls and provide feedback to improve the policies.

  • Prepare requested analysis and reporting on Cash accounts for balance sheet reviews, year-end or ad hoc reporting as well as for special projects.

  • Additional responsibilities to include other general accounting/financial reporting month-end, reconciliation, reporting processes as assigned.

  • Documentation and maintenance of job processes.


Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • 2-3 years related experience preferred

  • Excellent understanding of systems – Microsoft Office & Understanding of banking transactions preferred. (Microsoft Dynamics/ERP beneficial)

  • Problem solving skills to follow-up with internal and external customers

  • Action-Oriented: Identifies and seizes new opportunities and steps up to handle tough issues.

  • Solid Excel skills (v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.) and proficient PC skills
