Job Description :
Our client has a great opportunity to join their Team. They need a strong Shipping and Receiving Manager who has  experience with management of others, lean methodologies, LTL shipments, inventory control, process improvement and has leadership skills.  
Required Qualifications :
 

 



  • Safety


    • Promote a "Zero Injury" culture

    • Ensure safe working conditions and safe work behavior

    • Assures compliance with all government and company standards.

    • Conduct regular safety meetings and training.


  • Quality


    • Lead shipping/receiving error reduction and error-proofing

    • Lead inventory accuracy improvement

    • Maintain standardized work and process control plans.

    • Audit incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy.


  • Delivery


    • Maintain/improve fill rate by effectively leading the department

    • Coordinate with other departments to ensure the highest level of customer service and on-time delivery

    • Coordinate transportation logistics, including pick-ups, deliveries and driver schedules.

    • Utilize current operating system for shipping, receiving, and back order-filling functions. Including data collection of shipping and receiving performance


  • Cost


    • Utilize rate-shopping software for LTL shipments

    • Lead cost reduction in labor, supplies, freight expenses and OT         

    • Engage team in eliminating/reducing NVA


  • People


    • Work with Supply Chain Director to improve employee relations, work environment and teamwork

    • Utilize effective verbal and written communication with all levels of the organization to build trust and encourage cooperation toward common goals

    • Develop and implement training plans to develop the skills of the team and to grow leaders within the team

    • Continuous Improvement

    • Maintain KPIs to accurately measure performance and drive daily improvement in SQDC

    • Effectively identify problems, utilize root cause analysis and problem-solving tools to implement corrective measures

    • Troubleshoot all receiving and shipping issues to find root cause, resolve the problem, and prevent reoccurrence.

    • Lead and participate in regular kaizen activity for improvement

    • Perform additional, related duties as needed



 


Qualifications




    • 1-3 years of experience in a logistics, warehouse, distribution or operations leadership role

    • Experience in Lean supply chain

    • Tier one automotive supplier experience in a logistics role is a plus

    • Overseas logistics experience is a plus

    • Union experience is a plus

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

    • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills; able to build and maintain rapport, and work effectively cross-functionally

    • Professional and business judgment with high level of integrity and ethics

    • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work to deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
