Job Description :
Our real estate services client is seeking a full-time self-starter for a Senior Property Accountant position to provide accounting support to the Controller and Assistant Controller.  Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must.  The candidate should be a team player due to the rapidly developing office environment. 

 


Primary responsibilities:



  • Prepare financial statements including balance sheets, income statements and cash flows for multiple properties.

  • Perform the monthly close which includes creating and posting journal entries, reviewing expenses for appropriate general ledger coding, and creating non-standard entries for manual accruals.

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.

  • Assist with ad hoc requests for financial information and analysis.

  • Compile and format monthly financial reporting packages for partners and third-party clients.

  • Assist in preparation of year-end reporting.

  • Proficient in creating spreadsheets in Excel for various uses (i.e., analyzing data, making templates, etc.).

  • Preparing or assisting with correspondence to our investors, clients, brokers, vendors, managers, external auditors, etc.

  • Assist staff accountants and administrative assistants to insure accurate and efficient workflow.


 


 


Required Qualifications :


  • Undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business/Economics (or equivalent experience in corporate or public accounting)

  • 3+ years of Accounting experience with bachelor’s degree; 8+ years of experience without.

  • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accrual basis of accounting.

  • Computer proficient with significant experience in MS-Office Excel.

  • Communicate effectively with others (written and verbal).

  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to meet time constraints and client deadlines.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
