The Senior Accountant is responsible for all areas relating to financial recordkeeping and general ledger maintenance. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end benefit plan audit assistance and assistance with the annual budget and forecast activities.


 


Responsibilities & Duties



  • Create accurate and up-to-date financial records, including recording transactions, posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and producing reports (cash, payroll & benefits, AP, fixed assets, prepaids, leases, AR, and revenue]

  • Reconcile bank statements with general ledger accounts to identify discrepancies and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.

  • Preparation of financial statements to include balance sheets, income statement, cash flow statement, and other schedules to provide insights into the company's financial performance.

  • Manage cash flow, including monitoring cash balances and preparing cash forecasts.

  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.

  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.

  • Assist with annual budget and forecasting activities.

  • Monitor expenses, analyze spending patterns, and identify opportunities for cost savings or efficiency improvements.

  • Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.

  • Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.

  • Monitor compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. Recommend and implement necessary changes or improvements.

  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to provide financial information, analysis, and support for decision-making processes.

  • Support external audits.


 


Other Responsibilities



  • Work collaboratively with TSC team to support projects and improve processes.

  • Uphold confidentiality and compliance with company policies and HIPAA laws.

  • Assist with accounting transitions for acquired practices.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications :
 

Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in healthcare.

  • Proficiency with Sage 100 and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage projects with competing priorities.

  • Experience with month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries.


 


Preferred Qualifications



  • CPA or working towards it.

  • Healthcare background with multi-location experience.


 


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

  • Ability to use computer for long periods of time.
