Job Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for all areas relating to financial recordkeeping and general ledger maintenance. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end benefit plan audit assistance and assistance with the annual budget and forecast activities.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Create accurate and up-to-date financial records, including recording transactions, posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and producing reports (cash, payroll & benefits, AP, fixed assets, prepaids, leases, AR, and revenue]
- Reconcile bank statements with general ledger accounts to identify discrepancies and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Preparation of financial statements to include balance sheets, income statement, cash flow statement, and other schedules to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
- Manage cash flow, including monitoring cash balances and preparing cash forecasts.
- Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
- Assist with annual budget and forecasting activities.
- Monitor expenses, analyze spending patterns, and identify opportunities for cost savings or efficiency improvements.
- Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
- Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Monitor compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. Recommend and implement necessary changes or improvements.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to provide financial information, analysis, and support for decision-making processes.
- Support external audits.
Other Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with TSC team to support projects and improve processes.
- Uphold confidentiality and compliance with company policies and HIPAA laws.
- Assist with accounting transitions for acquired practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications :
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in healthcare.
- Proficiency with Sage 100 and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage projects with competing priorities.
- Experience with month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or working towards it.
- Healthcare background with multi-location experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to use computer for long periods of time.
