Job Description :

The accountant will handle the day‐to‐day financial needs of the company. They will work with the general ledger, receive and pay invoices, prepare monthly reporting packages and assist the CFO and Tax Director and Legal Liaison with other financial activities as needed.

Essential duties and responsibilities

 

Business and Financial Advisory


  • Perform monthly bank reconciliation for multiple entities and individuals

  • Prepare bank deposits

  • Support the office with managing real estate investments, including property management and negotiations

  • Support the CFO with loan monitoring activities


Reporting and Recordkeeping


  • Prepare and provide regular financial statements by compiling and analyzing account information for review by the CFO

  • Prepare and provide regular portfolio reporting analysis on  investments to CIO, CFO and Investment Committee members

  • Prepare and distribute other statements, reports and analyses as needed

  • Monitor collection of various receivables, including loans, related interest, leases, etc.

  • Process standard journal entries as required

  • Maintain and update chart of accounts in GL for multiple entities ensuring consistency between entities where appropriate

  •  Maintain schedules and reports needed for tax and financial reporting

  • Conduct monthly account analyses and reconciliations of bank account and brokerage statements

  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information


Compliance and regulatory


  • Maintain and monitor a calendar of due dates for tax compliance

  • Support the Tax Director and Legal Liaison with resolving personal tax issues and completing returns (including family trusts and

  • partnerships)

  • Support the CFO with producing timely and accurate financial statements and investment performance reports for all entities administered


Required Qualifications :

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting; Masters of Accounting preferred

• 5+ years public/private accounting experience; experience directly within a single‐family office preferred

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and QuickBooks

• Experience with investment tracking

• Experience with cash management and wire transfers

• Ability to multi‐task and meet deadlines

• Strong analytical and communication skills

• Collaborative and team oriented

• Ability to adapt to change

• Willingness to work flexible hours to meet deadlines
