Job Description :

Our Nashville client is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support responsible decision making, accountability and compliance by providing timely and accurate financial data and maintaining a positive employee experience related to payroll. The critical Payroll Specialist activities to achieve this are:



  • Prepares and processes payroll in accordance with Company pay plans and in compliance with all Federal, State, and Local laws regarding payroll administration

  • Clear and timely communication to all payroll related matters

  • Prepares accruals for month-end financial statements

  • Reconciles employee receivable accounts

  • Processes payments for all health benefit invoices

  • Complies with HIPAA regulations

  • Reviews and processes employee cash reimbursements

  • Administration of the company’s credit card system

  • Participates in periodic review of Pay Plans and maintains payroll worksheet templates as needed

  • Evaluates process improvements and develop and enhance reporting as needed

  • Other duties as assigned (including backup support)

  • Compliance with all federal, state and local laws regarding payroll administration.

  • Timely and accurate accounting records as related to scope of role.

  • Timely and accurate processing and recording of employee expenses and payments.

  • Accurate and timely recording of payroll/benefit-related accruals.


Required Qualifications :


  • Embraces Mission, Vision, and Values

  • 3+ years of applicable experience managing the payroll process, multi-state experience preferred.

  • Related Degree or commensurate experience.

  • Ability to maintain a current knowledge base of payroll and benefits related trends and processes

  • Knowledge of payroll and payroll tax regulations

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and work with a high degree of independence

  • Microsoft Office experience, strong Excel skills preferred

  •  Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.

  • Solid history of providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentational skills.

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred

  • Experience with company ERP; Microsoft Dynamics GP experience preferred
