Payroll Analyst - 13124 - 6

Job Description :

Our client in Nashville, TN has an immediate need for a Temp-perm Payroll Analyst.  The position will prepare Bi-weekly payroll and maintain attendance and time sheet records for all employees. The Payroll Analyst will report to the Controller. Once perm, the company offers a strong compensation and benefits package, including health, vision, dental, 401k with a strong match and more


Primary Responsibilities

  • Administer all aspects of payroll utilizing the payroll system.

  • Calculate sales commissions and bonuses.

  • Compile time sheets and calculate overtime.

  • Review and distribute W-2 forms.

  • Prepare the payroll summary monthly.

  • Complete correspondences regarding payroll information for unemployment, IRS, Dept. of Labor, etc.

  • Review payroll tax returns and other information both quarterly and annually.

  • Pay all Benefit related bills online. (BCBS, UNUM, VISION, Health Equity)

  • Enter all General Ledger entries into Sage related to Payroll

  • Enter all General Ledger entries into Sage related to benefit billings

  • Account reconciliation

  • Maintain Employee Files


  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Pivot Tables, V-Lookup and Sum Ifs

  • Ability to keep sensitive information highly confidential

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong and pleasant telephone and interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal professionally with clients, vendors, and co-workers on the phone and in person.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to take initiative, use good judgment, demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail, and carry multiple projects through to completion.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work and ask for further clarification when necessary.

  • Ability to work under pressure with tight time constraints, as well as the ability to deal with frequent interruptions, unresolved situations, frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 4 years of payroll experience; Including utilization of current Payroll Systems.

  • Understanding of payroll process and internal controls

  • Understanding of federal, state and local tax regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in construction organization

  • Associates or Bachelors degree preferred

  • Paycom Payroll System

  • Sage 300 CRE ERP platform (formerly Timberline)
