Job Description :
Our client is a local Chattanooga company who is growing and looking to hire an HR Manager. This is a new position and the person must provide HR leadership and support to functional business units.  Person would be directing and have coordination of all HR activities for Talent Acquisition/Recruiting, Talent Management/Performance Management, Compensation and Employee Benefits Administration along with the coordination and orchestrating Training, Coaching and Development activities and Employee Career Management and Succession Planning. 


  • Manage talent acquisition. Create candidate pipelines for future staffing needs and manage recruiting and onboarding of new employees based on business needs.  

  • Support Company with all Human Resources support while ensuring policy and procedure compliance is followed in regards to state/federal employment law.

  • Manage all aspects of Talent Acquisition that includes pipeline development, recruiting, hiring and onboarding of all team members. Ensure that human resource policies and/or procedures are properly aligned with Company corporate policies.

  • Facilitate profile assessments and ability to utilize for new hire and existing employee (the latter as appropriate) testing. Review test results with the hiring manager and ensure insight from tests is incorporated into the interview and hiring decision process.

  • Responsible for managing employee relations and employee disciplinary practices. This includes investigating employee issues/concerns, documenting the investigation and determining a resolution that’s compliant with enterprise policies and state/federal employment law. Assist with any EEOC charge investigations and development of appropriate position statements.

  • Manage Company benefit enrollments, changes, and vendors, which includes medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, Life, HSA, 401k enrollments and other employee benefits as designated.

  • Provides performance improvement coaching to management staff and ensures proper performance and/or disciplinary documentation.

  • Field questions while coaching and directing the management staff regarding potential litigious employment related situations, adhering to all local/state/federal laws for compliance.

  • Minimize possible litigation and unemployment exposure to the Company by practicing and enforcing policies, offering guidance and direction to business leaders.

  • Oversee Leave Management practices. Ensure practices include proper documentation, required notifications and proper communication to team members and assigned business unit management teams.

  • Experience leading, coaching and mentoring direct reports.

  • Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve.

  • Ability to provide innovative HR solutions and process improvement.

  • Strong internal and external customer service skills.

  • To be effective, the position requires high energy, strong work ethic, good communication, writing, organization and system Microsoft Office skills.
