Job Description :

The VP will partner with the executive leadership team to develop overall business strategies, align People Services initiatives with the business strategies of the firm, and implement and execute action plans necessary to meet short and long-term business goals.  This position serves as the company business partner and resource to champion, collaborate and execute on matters related to culture, employment, retention, employee engagement, and communication.  Duties include responsibilities for the following business areas:

  • Driving company culture through thoughtful programs and communications

  • Performance management and improvement systems

  • Organization development and succession planning

  • Employment and compliance to regulatory concerns

  • Employee development and training

  • Policy development and documentation

  • Employee services and counseling

  • Assessment of employment matters

  • Oversees the implementation of People Services programs through the staff of the Office of People Services.

  • Monitors administration of established standards and procedures.

  • Manages the development and maintenance Ultipro

  • Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation

  • Conducts assessments when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth

  • Monitors all pay practices and systems for effectiveness and cost containment

  • Strategically evaluates benefit plans that are cost-effective, employee serving; monitors national benefits environment for options and cost savings

  • Works with the executive leadership team to design and manage a company-wide process of organization development that addresses issues such as succession planning, superior workforce development, key employee retention, organization design, and change management 

  • Keeps the CEO, CAO and the executive team informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of the Company’s goals, and those that are not being addressed adequately at the line management level



Required Qualifications :

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development

  • 7-10 plus years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions

  • 5 years in HR department leadership

  • Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organizations and ongoing community involvement preferred.

  • SPHR/PHR certifications

  • Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and development

  • Above average oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop Human Resource staff 

  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.  Must include Excel and skills in database management, record keeping, payroll and HRIS software

  • Experience in administration of benefits and compensation programs
