Interim Payroll Specialist

Job Description :

Our client has an immediate need for an Interim Payroll Specialist for a four-month project to cover a maternity leave. The Interim Payroll Specialist position is responsible for assisting with the accurate and timely completion of bi-weekly payroll and submission to ADP for processing. Must be effective at multitasking, organizing, and detailed oriented. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and email are required. Honesty, integrity, and ethical behavior is required. This project is fully remote, but candidates must be able to work a full time dedicated schedule during normal business hours. Candidates must have a dedicated workspace at home for this remote project.Candidates must be located in the Nashville, TN area. 




Primary Responsibilities:


· Process employee deductions, check requests and garnishments.


· Assist with the preparation of bi-weekly payroll.


· Verifies hourly employee PTO eligibility according to company policy.


· Provides excellent payroll related customer service to all employees.


· Assist with annual financial, payroll and 401K audits.


· Performs other duties as assigned or requested.


· Complete and distribute payroll analytics and reports as requested.




Education & Qualifications:


· Associate degree in a finance related field.


· Minimum of 3 - 5 years previous payroll-related experience.


· Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis in Microsoft Excel is preferred but not required. Pivot Tables and LOOKUPs not required.


· Preferred knowledge of ADP Work Force Now and Enhanced Time


· Knowledge of employee deductions.


· Ability to prepare business correspondence with accuracy.


· Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.


· Excellent oral and written communication skills.


· Capable of working well with all levels of the organization.


· Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing the English language required




Physical Job Requirements:


· Typical office environment.


· Flexible work from home available.


· Ability to lift files, open drawers and bend or stand as necessary.


· Ability to life and / or move up to 10 pounds.
