Interim Intercompany Accountant-14184
Our healthcare client has an immediate need for an Intercompany Accounting Consultant. This role will last from 6 to 12 months and could potentially convert to permanent position for the right candidate.
This position will lead the intercompany accounting and reporting process, serving as a strategic business partner for our Finance teams and expanding operational footprint. This role, reporting to the Manager of Corporate Accounting, will assist with daily corporate accounting functions. Additionally, it will help deliver accounting transformation initiatives to streamline cross-functional processes and meet SEC accelerated reporting deadlines.
JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead Intercompany Accounting and Reporting: Bridge the gap between different departments by coordinating with cross-functional teams to identify, prepare, and record intercompany expense allocations, ensuring the job gets done efficiently.
- Month-End Closing: Prepare and record monthly journal entries. These are allocation journal entries.
- Balance Sheet Accuracy: Ensure balance sheet accounts are accurately stated and reconciled to the general ledger by researching variances, identifying root causes, and making necessary adjustments.
- Month-End Review: Conduct thorough reviews of facility general ledgers and financial statements.
- Internal Financial Reporting: Generate monthly internal financial reports to assist management in operational reviews and ensure internal control compliance.
- Business Process Improvement: Collaborate with facilities and Corporate to enhance business processes and accounting systems, ensuring the accuracy, usefulness, and timeliness of financial statements for management and external auditors.
- Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures and assist in the development and implementation of new controls, policies, and procedures.
- Audit Support: Assist in year-end financial statement audits and quarterly reviews with external auditors, including the preparation of audit schedules.
- Financial Inquiries: Address questions related to financials from management and partners.
- Distribution Packages: Prepare monthly and quarterly distribution packages.
- Effective Communication: Communicate timely and effectively with entity directors, corporate, and external investors.
- Documentation Maintenance: Maintain appropriate documentation for all transactions and correspondence.
Since this is remote, the candidate doesn’t have to reside in Nashville, but ideally they will be Eastern or Central Time Zone.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Experience with intercompany expense allocations.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel – pivot tables, VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP formulas
- Proficiency working with large data sets including downloading and manipulating data. The company’s data environment is challenging, and this consultant will need to be patient and proficiency with pulling and manipulating the data on their own.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. The consultant will be working with team members across the company and will need to have strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with a large team of people.
- 3+ years of direct accounting experience closing the books for a public company or multi-subsidiary organization.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment. The hiring manager expects there to be a leaning curve to learn the SP company environment which is complex. Consultant needs to be able to not be frustrated by the complexity.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Must be detail-oriented but also able to see the big picture.
- A proven history of leading and delivering continuous improvement.
- Collaborates effectively with others and inspires a strong teamwork mentality.
- Successful recruiting and onboarding of new talent, demonstrating excellent people skills – The consultant will not be hiring team members but needs to be able to effectively train new team members who join the company.

- CPA Designation or equivalent qualification in good standing.
- Prior industry experience at a public company.
