Company Overview
Our client, a vascular surgical company with annual revenues of $30 million, has an immediate need for an Interim Controller.
This is a hands-on interim role requiring the ability to work on-site in Naples, Florida for 3-4 days per week. The project is expected to last 3 to 6 months, with a strong possibility of conversion to a permanent position based on performance and company needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Process Improvement:
Lead process improvement initiatives across the accounting function, ensuring best practices are implemented to optimize efficiency and accuracy. - Balance Sheet Reconciliation & Clean-Up:
Take ownership of the company's balance sheet accounts, identifying discrepancies and cleaning up historical entries to ensure accurate financial reporting. - Monthly Financial Close:
Oversee and execute a timely and accurate month-end close process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. - Internal Controls:
Assess and strengthen internal controls to ensure the company's financial processes are secure, efficient, and scalable for future growth. - Audit Support:
Prepare and assist with any internal or external audits, ensuring that financial records are accurate and complete. - Stakeholder Reporting:
Provide financial reporting to the executive team and recommend process improvements to enhance overall financial health and visibility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA Certification preferred but not required.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, ideally in a healthcare, multi-location business environment.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives, including balance sheet clean-up and optimizing month-end close processes.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP standards and financial compliance.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with on-site teams and executive leadership.
Schedule & Location
- On-Site Requirement:
The Interim Controller is expected to work 3-4 days per week on-site at the company's headquarters in Naples, FL. Long – term, the company may move to Nashville. - Project Duration:
This project is estimated to last 3-6 months, with the potential to transition into a permanent Controller role based on performance and business needs.
