Job Description :

Our healthcare client is seeking a Director of Intake for a  mid-level management position. The Director of  Intake will serve as an integral role in managing a growing team of intake coordinators and authorization specialists who work with acute and chronic patients requiring intermittent and recurring IV treatments.


The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership abilities, demonstrates the ability to evaluate, manage and improve work flow processes and one who possesses a passion for a high level of customer service.


Essential functions of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Manage a current department of thirteen individuals in Nashville and Memphis

  • Oversee the recruitment, interviewing and hiring of staff

  • Manage and improve the department’s work flow processes

  • Provide ongoing training to staff on department initiatives, new therapies and clinical requirements for authorization

  • Liaison between company and payor groups and drug manufacturers to gain understanding of authorization requirements for specific therapies and disease states

  • Collaborate with other directors (nursing & pharmacy) and the sales team to resolve work flow issues and identify and implement improvements.

  • Collaborate with the outsourced billing and collections firm to resolve patient/claim issues.   


Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience verifying benefits, patient eligibility and prior authorizations

  • Demonstrated understanding of Medicare’s LCD criteria in various disease states

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret payor contracts and authorization requirements

  • Minimum of five years previous management experience in related healthcare field

  • Affinity for problem solving and troubleshooting

  • Clinical background (RN/LPN) would be favorably viewed

  • Experience with pharmacy and/or drugs would be favorably viewed.
