Job Description :

Our client is seeking a Director of Financial Reporting to be responsible for the timely, complete and accurate financial reporting requirements of the Company in accordance with internal policies and US GAAP. Additional expectations of the position include strong accounting skills, a solid understanding of the business, knowledge of SEC rules and regulations and interfacing with internal and external auditors. Exposure to senior management across the business is frequent and requires the ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively. 


 


Other Responsibilities



  • Coordinate and oversee all financial reporting for a large corporation.

  • Lead and develop financial reporting senior accountants and managers.  

  • Preparation and/or review of all financial statements, footnote disclosures and other items included in quarterly and annual reports filed with the SEC to ensure the financial statements are presented in accordance with GAAP and SEC regulations.

  • Capacity to analyze data and understand correlations to other parts of business operations.  

  • Able to review Accounting Standards Updates, asses and document the impact to the Company.

  • Able to write technical memos on technical accounting matters.

  • Experience with transactional filings including but not limited to, equity and debt securities offerings and other registration statements, as well as application of significant acquisition SEC rules and regulations and required reporting

  • Strong knowledge of SEC rules and regulations.  

  • Exposure to technical accounting issues, including but not limited to, share-based payments, mergers and acquisitions and goodwill to ensure accounting and reporting is accurate.

  • Assist with technical accounting research to support accounting positions.

  • Work closely with other departments regarding various accounting and reporting information needed for related reporting functions.

  • Provide information to and communicate with the outside auditing firm.

  • Participate in financial based special projects.

  • Responsible for performing, providing evidence of performance of, and occasionally updating internal controls associated with the reporting functions.

  • Ensure each role has documented standard operating procedures.  

  • Interview, hire and train new staff members.  

  • Exposure to XBRL tagging functions. 


Required Qualifications :


  • Bachelors Degree in accounting required

  • 12+ years of experience in corporate accounting and financial reporting is required, including minimum 6 years in Big 4 public accounting working with public companies

  • CPA required

  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to work effectively with management, accounting, auditors and other stakeholders to obtain information timely and effectively and to provide high quality customer service to the organization.

  • Must coordinate financial reporting requirements and timelines while managing financial reporting staff

  • Workiva WDesk experience preferred

  • SAP experience preferred

  • BPC experience preferred
