Job Description :
Our client, a private investment firm, is searching for a Controller to join their team. The Controller will handle aspects of investor relations, portfolio company reporting, and internal accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have experience with private equity and/or hedge funds, will possess a CPA, and have a minimum of 5 years finance and/or accounting experience. This position is located in Nashville, TN.
Responsibilities:
- Investor Relations
- Prepare quarterly reports and valuations for investors
- Update realized and unrealized valuations on a quarterly basis
- Portfolio Company Reporting
- Coordinate with portfolio company controllers to ensure consistent financial reporting
- Review all portfolio monthly financials
- Spread monthly portfolio company financials to anticipate covenant breaches and recalculate covenant
- Communicate with lenders
- Internal accounting functions
- Assist with annual audit
- Assist with tax returns
- Assist with SEC Compliance matters
- Assist with cash disbursement and capital calls
- Fund internal cash flows and accounting
Required Qualifications :
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the financial services/accounting industry
- Experience with alternative asset classes including private equity and/or hedge funds a plus
- BA/BS in related field (i.e. accounting/finance)
- CPA a plus
- Strong organizational skills
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
