Position Summary:


Our client, an American producer, is searching for a Director of Corporate Accounting to join their team. The Director will be responsible for managing the overall GL Accounting Shared Services functions and the intra-plant consolidation of results through the monthly close process. This position is with a fast-growing manufacturing company located in Franklin, TN.


 


Responsibilities:



  • Payroll and Benefits accounting e.g. Payroll accounting and allocation, Payroll Taxes, Defined Contribution (401K), Medical and Dental Benefits and Workers Compensation accounting and allocation and related analysis and internal reporting

  • Consolidation and reconciliation of inter-plant financial data in the Corporate General Ledger

  • Allocation of Corporate charge backs e.g. Insurance, IT processes, etc.

  • Shared Services – Centralized plant journal and Employee Expense Reimbursement

  • Closing and reconciling of AP/AR sub ledgers

  • Ensure that all payroll, benefits, and workers compensation related activity is accurately and timely reflected in the Company’s financial ledgers.

  • Ensure that all centrally controlled payroll and employee benefit related costs are communicated and transferred to the relevant operating units in line with company procedures and policies.

  • Ensure that all related balance sheet account reconciliations are completed accurately and in line with Company procedures.

  • Preparation and analysis of employee benefits related data for review and consideration of Company Management

  • Assist in the development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms performance against budget, forecast and prior periods.

  • Ensure distribution of all necessary month end financial data in line with distribution guidelines.

  • Ensure that all pertinent centrally controlled expenses are allocated out to operating plants accurately and in a timely fashion via intercompany chargebacks or debit/credit memos. This includes, amongst others, payroll costs, insurance costs and central group expenses

  • Ensure that inter-plant financial data is successfully and accurately consolidated in Corporate Oracle System. This includes, amongst other things, ensuring the necessary elimination of all branch (inter/intra plant) activity and balances.

  • Adhere to policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and integrity of data and to ensure that internal controls over financial reporting are operating effectively and efficiently, in compliance with GAAP and the Sarbanes–Oxley Act.

  • Maintains regular contact with Plant level accounting teams to obtain and convey information and/or to correct transactions or other erroneous data.

  • Keep management informed of area activities and any significant problems by providing detailed cost and activity analysis and reporting.

  • Attend and participate in meetings as necessary.

  • Accounting documents, records and reports are prepared, maintained accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Department files are appropriately maintained.

  • Account reconciliations are correct and completed in a timely manner.

  • Good communication and coordination exist with Company personnel. Assistance and support are provided as needed.

  • Management is appropriately informed of area activities

  • Direct reports are adequately trained, developed, and supervised

  • Accounting functions are completed in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.


Required Qualifications :


  • BA/BS with an emphasis in Accounting/Finance

  • CPA/CMA Preferred

  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years related experience

  • Process and task orientated

  • Self-motivated/proven leader                                                                    

  • Detail oriented

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent communication skills (Written and Verbal)

  • Strong Team Player

  • Firm understanding of US GAAP

  • Oracle E Business Suite experience would be beneficial

  • Background in a manufacturing highly preferred

  • Strong Excel/Word skills
