Job Description :

Position Summary:


Our insurance client is looking for a Director, Finance to join their team. This role will support financial operations for designated departments. This person is responsible for financial reporting (internal, outside, and regulatory) and analysis.  This person will also support compliance activities related to financial functions.




Responsibilities:



  • Direct management of financial accounting manager(s) and staff

  • Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of outside and internal financial statements and reporting packages

  • Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of regulatory reporting of financial results along with associated filings

  • Accountable regarding reporting and analysis requirements/needs

  • Ensure reporting packages identify key performance indicators as well as pertinent analysis relative to business trends and variances

  • Responsible for overseeing the Finance Team in their production of monthly/quarterly/annual reserve analysis; responsible for adequacy of reserves

  • Enhance financial reporting and analysis tools as required

  • Support tax accountants relative to health plan tax return preparation

  • Presentation of financial reports to management, internal teams, and/or health plan boards when required

  • Implement and maintain adequate system of internal controls over financial reporting

  • Identify efficiencies and key performance indicators (KPIs) that allow the organization to operate at its highest level; effectively evaluate the most relevant organizational data and initiatives

  • Provide guidance and oversight for the consolidation and financial statement preparation on a monthly and quarterly basis

  • Maintain or acquire competent staff; ensure adequate training is available to staff

  • Ensure adequate workpapers and documentation is maintained at all staff levels

  • Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls

  • Serve as a resource for research and documentation of technical accounting guidance and implementation; identify, evaluate, and quantify the impact of accounting regulations, pronouncements, and other technical matters; assure appropriate practices and controls are in place for compliance.

  • Other projects and duties as assigned


Required Qualifications :

 


Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

  • 6+ plus years of health care experience, including 3 years of supervisory/management. Managed care experience is preferred.    

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

  • CPA preferred

  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
