Our Client is currently seeking a Cost Accountant join our accounting team at our global headquarters in Nashville, TN. The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing financial information and cost data to provide accurate and timely information to management to support decision making. The role involves developing, implementing and maintaining cost accounting systems, performing variance analysis, identifying and recommending cost-saving opportunities, administering the Company’s inventory advisory software and managing intercompany pricing. Attention to detail, a curious mind, and a willingness to learn are key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

• Design and implement cost accounting systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting cost data.


• Analyze costs to identify trends and variances and provide recommendations for improvements.


• Provide management with analysis of financial results and cost trends to assist with decision-making.


• Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities through the analysis of cost data.


• Assist the Operations and Procurement Team to identify the best prices for raw materials.

• Administer the Company’s inventory advisory software and work with the Operations and Procurement Team to maintain optimal inventory levels.


• Maintain costing data, review costing for new and existing products, and work with the Pricing Team to achieve desired margins.


• Manage direct material costs and intercompany pricing for the Company’s subsidiaries to achieve appropriate margins.


• Assist in budgeting and forecasting by providing cost estimates and analysis.


• Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures as necessary.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or finance.


• Minimum of 2 years of experience in cost accounting.


• Experience in manufacturing or production environments is preferred.


• Strong practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and IF statements required.


• Strong understanding of the conceptual framework of accounting.


• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data.
