Job Description :

Our client has an immediate need to hire a Corporate Accountant. This is an opportunity to lead all financial and accounting responsibilities for a small growing business. A successful candidate should have experience with producing month-end, quarter-end and year end financials. 

Key Responsibilities:




  • Prepare monthly financial statements, budget comparisons and supplemental reporting, including preparing and entering journal entries and performing balance sheet reconciliations

  • Manage deferred revenue and prepaid expense activity throughout the year; strong accrual accounting background preferred

  • Lead the annual budgeting and planning process in coordination with multiple department heads

  • Manage and report cash flow

  • Prepare bank reconciliations monthly

  • Responsible for all AP and AR activities

  • Process travel expense reports

  • Prepare 1099s at year end

  •  Prepare sales tax returns for multiple states on a monthly basis; must have a thorough understanding of sales tax requirements for company operating in multiple states

  • Calculate quarterly sales commissions

  • Prepare year end information for tax preparation

  • Responsible for the corporate general, liability and workers comp insurance renewals; ensures the company is properly protected each year

  • HR duties including new hire paperwork, payroll and management of employee benefits such as 401(k) administration and health insurance




Required Qualifications :


  • B.S. or Masters Degree in Accounting; ideally, 7+ years related-work experience

  • While not required, a CPA is desired

  • Proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, Word, etc.)

  • Great Plains accounting software experience a strong preference

  • Human resources knowledge a plus

  • Excellent work ethic with a willingness to work the hours needed to accomplish the expectations of the position

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating financial results, including presentations to senior leadership and the board
