Responsibilities:
· Regularly ensure data input for accuracy and timeliness to deliver effective reporting results mainly through planning, directing, and coordinating accounting functions and team members
· Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
· Collaborate with all departments and provide appropriate accounting reporting timely as needed.
· Be an advocate for policy & procedures
· Apply policy & procedures to all facets of job responsibilities.
· Communicate policies & procedures consistently firmwide.
· Provide optimal client service to all designers.
· Manage self and team workload.
· Consistent communication of goals, targets, and results with team members
· Obtain appropriate levels of training to maintain accounting and software knowledge needed
· Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvements, and implementing new processes
· Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
· Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database
· Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
· Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff
· Serve as support when needed for other team members’ responsibilities.
· Lead recurring and non-recurring procedures that include timely coordination, preparation, analysis, and maintenance of: recurring reporting packets (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually)
· Bank statement reconciliations
· AR collections in accordance with client contracts
· Insurance overview and audits
· Payroll transactions & checks
· Maintain accurate personnel files.
· Regulatory accounting/tax planning and compliance (ex. Federal/state, payroll and sales)
· Project reporting, to include timesheet accuracy and compliance
· Annual budget and budget review
· Discretionary bonus recording and analysis
- Provide oversight, feedback, and training for recurring and non-recurring procedures that include:
* Weekly Expense review for proper coding
* Budget to actual review and reporting for projects and GL accounts
* Deposit review for accuracy and completeness
* Vendor payables
* Client outstanding balances
* Cash availability/needs
* Timesheet review of admin staff
* Monthly analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries for
* AR, invoicing, contracts, and allowances
* Write off of bad debt
* Prepaid assets and expense (health insurance bills)
* Fixed Assets and depreciation
* AP and vendor payments
* Other liabilities (credit cards, loans) and related expenses (interest exp)
* Intercompany due to/from
* Taxes (sales and payroll); awareness of regulatory accounting & tax filing requirements
* Budget reporting of project and GL accounts
* Other, as needed
* Property management transactions and tasks

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting
· Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
· CPA required, MBA or equivalent a plus
· Possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles.
