Job Description :
Our client, a real estate investment and development firm, is searching for a Controller to join their team. The Company values thoughtful planning, innovation, and sustainability. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position will work hand in hand with the CFO on all operational accounting, financial reporting, and analytics. This person will coordinate the lease administration and review of all contracts for all commercial real estate tenants with responsibility for revenue recognition as well as financial reporting to tenants. The Controller will regularly interact with the executive team and provide reporting to the leadership team regarding performance and profitability. This is a hybrid position offering 1 day/week WFH.
Responsibilities
- Prepare organized accounting records complete with supporting workpapers and necessary schedules
- Perform month end close for property management, real estate development portfolios and corporate asset holdings, including reconciliations
- Assist with preparation of financial statements for managed asset portfolio for all necessary periods: Monthly, Quarterly & Annually
- Develop, implement, and track financial KPIs and metrics company wide
- Facilitate and execute monthly and quarterly distributions to investors and profit-sharing participants.
- Manage and coordinate deadlines and requests with lenders regarding reporting for periodic accounting schedules and records for debt and loan covenants and requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of company budgets, forecasts, and cash projections
- Provide accounting data and financial reporting to the CEO and Leadership Team

Required Qualifications :
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum 3+ years relevant experience
- Understanding of Commercial Real Estate leasing including building CapEx, tenant improvements, parking and CIP a plus
- CPA preferred
- Experience with Yardi and QuickBooks, or QuickBooks Online a plus
