Job Description :

Our client is seeking a Controller to lead a small team that reports to the CFO. This position is responsible for overseeing the General Accounting and Financial Reporting functions and the financial services area including credit, A/R, A/R, and Payroll as well as Audit and Tax related matters. The position will have direct management responsibility of the following: Accounting Manager, Senior Financial Analyst and Billing & AR Manager.



  • Oversee and lead accounting team by fostering an inspiring team environment that promotes open communication, trust, and productivity.

  • Build and develop the finance and accounting team.

  • Encourage a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.

  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach on a consistent basis.

  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals.

  • Assist in developing and supporting operational strategies.

  • Oversee the general accounting function including cash management/reconciliation, financial reporting, inter-company, and balance sheet management and providing comprehensive financial updates to senior management team.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines

  • Maintain and develop internal control safeguards for the protection of the company and its assets

  • Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP standards as well as provide support to the management team including investments, capex, etc.

  • Work with the Director of Finance to establish benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards periodically.

  • Responsible for proper timing and application of revenue recognition rules

  • Supervise the completion of federal and state tax reporting requirements insurance reports and other reports required by government regulation.

  • Perform other job duties as required.

Required Qualifications :

 Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or in a related field.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

  • 5 - 10 years of combined Public Accounting and or Private Industry accounting experience preferably within a multinational business

  • 3-5 years supervisory experience a plus; manager experience in public accounting will satisfy experience requirement. Prior management experience required

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting required

  • Strong analytical skills with a keen focus on both detail and the big picture

  • Ability to supervise, train and coach employees with varying levels of experience.

  • Employee development and performance evaluation skills.

  • Ability to make tough decisions, have difficult conversations and understand the value of conflict resolution over conflict avoidance.

  • Ability to convene and motivate teams; demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams.

  • Experience in analyzing business performance and developing financial plans within a service environment desirable.

  • Ability to foster a cooperative, positive, and elevated work environment.

  • High degree of integrity including ability to successfully deal with sensitive or confidential information

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
