Job Description :
Our client is seeking an experienced financial executive to oversee and perform all wealth management accounting functions. This individual will help create/refine the strategies to optimize the accounting and financial management of the company. A summary of the key responsibilities of the position includes:
• Setting strategy for the proper accounting and financial management 

• Ensuring all executives receive accurate, timely, and relevant financial information

• Preparing, reviewing, and approving various internal and external reports, including

monthly account reconciliations, balance sheets, financial statements, support for tax estimates and returns, management dashboards, and ad hoc requests

• Formulating, implementing, and managing accounting policies and controls that

effectively monitor operations and protect assets; developing best practices to ensure effectiveness of procedures and controls

• Managing book and tax accounting for corporate entities and partnerships; ensuring

effective and proper use of financial systems to accomplish efficient book-to-tax reconciliations

• Leading and directing efforts in the areas of process improvements, quality of information, and best practices in software use

• Be the lead contact by directing and taking direction from external consultants in legal, financial, and tax/accounting services

• Performing treasury functions for all entities; monitoring cash levels to ensure availability

of funds, debt repayments, investment vehicles, and cash forecast

• Preparing and maintaining subscription documents and capital calls for new and recurring

investments

• Management of contracts, and documents relating to trusts, entities, estate planning, and

investments.

• Calculating equity ownership, tax basis tracking, and potential gain/loss on investments

• Proactively providing risk management advice across the organization, identifying emerging risks, and recommending appropriate risk management options to senior management

• Implementing and maintaining appropriate insurance

• Lead contact with real estate and hard asset managers to accurately capture and report

expenses, create budgets and identify areas for potential savings

• Full responsibility for the bill-pay process to ensure accuracy and completeness, including

following up on missing invoices and identifying when accounts require funding

• Act as liaison, providing financial reports and communicating effectively to executives and members

• Manage all philanthropic commitments 

Required Qualifications :


  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting or finance required; graduate degree or

  • CPA preferred

  • Licensed Notary Public is preferred

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant finance and accounting roles within the wealth management space

  • Public accounting experience highly desired

  • Financial institution or trust company experience required

  • Trust and partnership reporting experience desired

  • General management and project management experience required

  • Working knowledge about all areas of wealth management (investments, tax, trust estate planning, legal, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of financial and investment reporting; working knowledge of legal, accounting and tax considerations related to investments

  • Experience working with information technology staff to manage finance and accounting software packages

  • Systems conversion and implementation experience highly desired

  • Strong common sense and judgement; self-confident individual who is able to see multiple sides of an issue, engage in interactive discussion and provide objective recommendations with conviction to support decisions; diplomatic in interactions
