Job Description :
We have a great opportunity to work for a very stable and profitable company! Our client is seeking a Controller to provide financial management and oversight for the company. This is an opportunity for work from home and work in a very collaborative and customer service oriented environment. 
Responsibilities include:


Strategy


  • As a true business partner to the CFO, assess departmental performance against both the annual budget

  • and department’s long-term strategy

  • Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CFO and make

  • actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations


Executive Management



  • Backup member to the CFO of the Business Continuity Team as outlined in MTA’s Business Continuity Plan



Financial Planning and Analysis


  • Prepare and maintain regular financial planning reports

  • Complete analysis of financial results;

  • Develop financial and operational recommendations that are both strategic and tactical

  • Assist in development of financial planning and analysis exercises and reports


Accounting and Administration


  • Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and function

  • Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures

  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting for federal and state

  • reporting requirements

  • Oversee the preparation and communication of all financial statements

  • Manage relationships with credit card vendors


Team Management


  • Mentor and develop a direct team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance

  • evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic


Cash Management


  • Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed

  • Oversee cash, investment, and asset management

  • Oversee weekly payables cycle

  • Oversee receivables management and provide support to collections activities



Accounting Activities


  • Oversee preparation of month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements

  • Review with monthly budget and financial reports with executive leadership, as applicable

  • Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocation

  • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems

  • Assist with annual financial review and tax preparation work papers



Financial Compliance



  •  Lead finance component of transparency reporting, problem solve, manage changes in process and ad hoc requests

  •  Support Chief Compliance Officer in client facing transparency reporting aspects

  • Oversee Finance client facing components of transparency reporting discussions

  • Oversee internal transparency guidelines and documentation of client specific processes

  • Oversee completing the standard MTA transparency reports for Clients, inclusive of data completion of country, federal and state licensing information by attendee

  •  Oversee transparency reporting schedule established

  • Oversee accurate HCP reporting counts using client specific directives on reporting

  •  Oversee accurate transparency reports by evidence of error free QC cross checks


 



 


 

 


Required Qualifications :


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • An active CPA license and/or MBA preferred

  • More than ten (10) years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles

  • Experience working with information technology staff to manage finance and accounting software packages
