Job Description :

The Compensation and Benefits Director is responsible for the design and implementation of a nationally competitive total compensation and benefits program for our growing healthcare client in Nashville.  This position reports directly to the CPO and works directly to contribute to the strategic objectives.  Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for overall design, implementation, communication and administration of compensation and benefits programs

  • Oversee competitive market research to establish pay practices and salary structures that attract, motivate, and retain associates.

  • Responsible for assessment and creation of company compensation structure and strategy and evaluation and upgrade of benefits to ensure employee engagement aligns with the business strategy.

  • Ensure compensation and benefits programs are consistently administered in compliance with policies and government regulations.

  • Build salary banding and leveling framework based on market data and manage the market benchmarking and operation of the pay structures. Oversee pay gap reporting and equal pay analysis.

  • Manage and evaluate current benefit plan strengths and weaknesses to ensure employee satisfaction, identify cost containment opportunities and strategies, and ensure optimal effectiveness of benefit utilization. Recommend future benefit programs, strategy, and plan changes as needed to meet the changing needs of the company and employees.

  • Lead the day to day management and oversight of all aspects of employee health benefits, wellness, absence management and retirement programs, including delivering best in class customer service to internal and external customers at all time.

  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements of various employee benefit programs and prepare and file required legal reports. Responsible for benefit plan metrics.

Required Qualifications :

  • Over 10 years of progressively responsible experience in compensation and benefits, including analysis, design, and administration with at least 5 years dedicated compensation experience.

  • Strong technical skills, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, HRIS, UltiPro+

  • Strong financial analysis skills and ability to interpret data, build sophisticated spreadsheets, summarize results and make recommendations.

  • Demonstrated experience in building and enhancing compensation and benefits strategies. Comprehensive knowledge of compensation and benefit plan design, administration, and practices.

  • Knowledge of state, federal and local laws governing compensation and benefits practices

  • Strategic and innovative thinker who works well in a team environment. Ability to solve complex problems for issue resolution; creatively and resourcefully resolve elevated issues while applying sound judgment and accountability.

  • Working knowledge of HRIS and data analytics tools, experience with Ultimate Software preferred.

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and Certified Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designations given strong preference.

  • Advanced skills in data visualization and analysis tools – experience with Power BI or Tableau preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory compliance including 5500s for 401(K) and welfare benefits, ERISA, HIPPA, COBRA, FLSA and other federal regulations.

  • An advanced level of compliance-related knowledge of state and federal laws including ADA, EEO, FLSA, Title VII, CFRA and various wage and hour laws.

  • Bachelors’ in Finance or Business required
