Job Description :

We have a great opportunity and a chance to work for a company that was voted one of the best places to work! Our client has an immediate need for a Chief People Officer (CPO). The CPO is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategies to make  the employer of choice for high performers that share our Core Values and Vision. The CPO provides leadership for all human resources functions including talent acquisition, employee engagement and retention, performance management, rewards and recognition, learning and leadership development, diversity, benefits, change management and employee communication. The position reports directly to the CEO.

 Through leading the HR team this role will have the following key objectives:

Strategic Leadership

  • Participate in the development of the organization's plans and programs as a strategic partner, but particularly from the perspective of the impact on people.

  • Recommend, develop and implement programs to sustain positive employee morale and increase employee retention.

  • Develop and implement HR plans and strategies that effectively communicate and support the firm's mission and strategic vision.

  • Serve as a senior advisor and confidante to the CEO, as well to other management, on all aspects of human resources so they have the “pulse of the company” to make proactive and impactful organizational decisions.


  • Develop progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance.

  • Evaluate compensation benchmarks regularly to ensure our compensation plans remain competitive.

  • Implement strategies to increase firm wide communication and engagement.

  • Translate the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans.

  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items affect the attraction, motivation, development and retention of human capital.

Organizational Development

  • Evaluate all levels within organization for identification and development of future leaders. Identify gaps for leadership roles and develop opportunities to recruit or train to close gap.

  • Evaluate the performance management process and revamp as needed to meet the needs of the firm.

  • Manage the learning and development team responsible for providing learning and development opportunities and monitoring continuing professional education requirements across the firm.


  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet human capital needs.

  • Develop staffing strategies and implement plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the organization for positions of responsibility.

HR Operations

  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce HR policies and procedures of the organization by implementing systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization.

  • Enhance and/or implement and manage the human resource information systems to track and report on key metrics to gauge the effectiveness of processes and programs, analyze trends and support recommendations for new initiatives.

  • Provide technical advice and knowledge to others within the human resource discipline.

  • Manage the budget and other financial measures of the HR department.

  • Evaluate the HR structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as for providing individuals with professional and personal growth opportunities.

Required Qualifications :

  • BA/BS from an accredited college/university

  • MBA or MSHR preferred

  •  SPHR required

  • At least five years executive level HR experience.

  •  Previous experience as CHRO and/or CPO is preferred

  • Experience managing and developing a team

  • Solid knowledge of employment law and best practices

  • Track record of innovation and strong change management skills

  • Confidence to challenge status quo and push back appropriately while balancing the needs of the firm and employees

          HRIS exp preferred
