Job Description :
Our client has been growing through multiple state retail store locations.  The company has a need for a Chief Operating Officer, works at the direction of the CEO.  This person is responsible for directing all retail operations and staff, providing leadership and managing the department to maintain growth and profitability, overseeing logistics, planning and scheduling, and inventory control.  Strong communications skills, drive, energy level, and problem-solving abilities will be critical for the success of this individual. Person must have substantial experience in development and growth of retail store chain.
Required Qualifications :
 

  • Designing and implementing business operations

  • Overseeing operations of the company and the work of executives

  • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth

  • Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of executives (Store Operations, Warehouse and Maintenance)

  • Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication

  • Establish operational benchmarks and resources needed to achieve strategic goals, proactively driving improvements as necessary; work in concert with Organizational Effectiveness team to set standards of accountability and clearly defined measurements of success

  • Coordinate and ensure strong execution across the Leadership Team in accordance with the strategic plan and drive strong cross-team systems

  • Measures effectiveness and efficiency of operational processes both internally and externally and finds ways to improve processes

  • Presents new ideas and growth strategies to CEO

  • Develop and provide operating and financial metrics, trend identification and analysis, performance assessments and feedback— translate analysis into actionable information.

  • Enhance reporting and monitoring systems to improve financial and operating performance and provide an “early warning” system for business challenges. Continuously and constantly examine and implement measures to drive costs out of the business.

  • Coordinates with human resources department to recruit skilled talent and keep the best employees, including employee mentoring

  • Provide strategic and tactical financial leadership to support and reinforce the company’s overall business plans.

  • Ensure the design and implementation of a long-range strategy in order to maintain financial health and create sustainability in a time of growth and scaling 



  • Manages and directs the retail department operations on the basis of profit and ROI.

  • Creates and supports an effective sales and service environment, ensuring standards and policies are implemented at the highest level of integrity and collaborating with peers and others stakeholders to meet business objectives.

  • Directs, through subordinate managers and staff, the ongoing operations and/development of the retail operations within the scope of the company’s mission and vision statements. Including but not limited to:


    • Identification and realization of cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities

    • Oversee key contract/pricing negotiations

    • Oversee the flow of goods between the point of origin and the point of consumption in the most efficient and cost effective manner to meet the requirements of customers. This includes all inbound, intercompany, and outbound material movement.
