Summary:
Company seeks hands on CFO to provide strategic guidance, leadership and coordination of company’s accounting finance and general administrative functions. Areas of responsibility include financial planning & analysis, treasury, project and budget management functions, risk management, HR and financial reporting, both internal and external. Experience with construction is a requirement.
Essential Job Functions:
- Direct and coordinate company accounting, financial planning & analysis, treasury, reporting and budgeting functions.
- Oversight of AP and Payroll, HR, Safety, IT and Risk Management functions
- Extensive work with project managers on billing for lump sum projects
- Preparation of all cost-plus billings
- Recommend benchmarks and measure the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments.
- Coordination of banking relationships and cash flow management.
- Preparation and presentation of all financial reporting to owners and all internal and external sources, including balance sheet, P&L, cash flows, and WIP reporting.
- Oversight and reconciliation of all bank accounts (25+), including operating account, investment account and retainage accounts for current projects.
- Manage the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax authorities.
- Provide required financial information to ownership group and lenders/investors.
- Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
Required Qualifications :
Knowledge And Skill Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA not required.
- 8-10 years practical experience in Finance or Accounting in a Controller, CFO or VP capacity in the construction industry.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple objectives and initiatives.
- Knowledge of lump sum and cost-plus project management, lien waivers and subcontractor insurance requirements
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets.
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
