Job Description :

Our client is seeking a CFO to direct the company’s financial planning and accounting practices as well as its relationships with financial institutions, external auditors and potential investors.  Responsible for the oversight of all accounting systems, internal controls, financial reporting (including tax and audit), treasury and risk management.  Serves as point person to provide direction and insights on financial planning and reporting as well as capital raising activities.


 


Role and Responsibilities:



  •  Oversees and directs treasury, budgeting, audit, tax (sales, payroll, workers comp), accounting, financial forecasting, credit, and risk management (insurance) activities of the company.

  • Oversees and directs company insurance policies for general liability, cyber, error and omissions, auto and workers comp)

  •  Applies for and coordinates both sales tax and employee payroll tax reporting in multi-states utilizing the company’s accounting (Quickbooks), sales tax calculation and filing system (Avalara) and payroll systems (Intuit Payroll) and external accounting firm

  • Compiles and analyzes reports on economic and business activity, and financial market conditions that can impact the company’s results or prospects.

  • Ensures accounting and IT systems are adequate and support timely and accurate transaction recording, interfaces and financial reporting including Salesforce for project reporting and time entry, Quickbooks, SAAS Optics (for recurring revenue calculations), Intuit Payroll, Concur Expense reporting.

  • Responsible for the issuance of all financial statements.

  • Responsible for the contract negotiation and administrative duties required to manage employee benefits programs (Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Simple IRA, HSA, Short and Long term disability, Supplemental Life Insurance, etc) and makes recommendations for changes to improve both company expense management and employee benefit quality.

  •  Analyzes comparable company benchmarking data to forecast the impact of potential strategic initiatives or process changes in relation to peer results. 

  • Evaluates business expansion, partnering and M&A opportunities. 

  •  Directs all banking and capital raising activities and manages cash for the company.

  • Oversees credit department responsible for customer credit and third-party loan origination activities.

  • Manages relationships with external vendors including contract negotiations.


Required Qualifications :

Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance-related field from a four-year college or university.  Five plus years of experience in an accounting or finance role required.  Capital raising and M&A transaction experience is preferred.  CPA certification is preferred.  MBA degree is desirable.
