Job Description :
Our client is a market leader for heating, ventilating, air conditioning and appliance products for worldwide specialty markets. with the rapid growth within their industry, they grew in company size along with gaining market share. The Supply Chain Department is needing to hire a Buyer for their Chattanooga area plant location. 
Required Qualifications :

  • Directly manage the acquisition of materials and other products critical to the support of production and operations through negotiating optimal pricing, availability, and delivery of materials with vendors including, but not limited to:

  • Sourcing product and follow approval processes for supplier, pricing, and purchase order (PO)

  • Supporting internal customers by providing exceptional customer service and providing information regarding products and availability in a proactive, timely, and professional manner Developing positive relationships and maintain rapport with suppliers, driving to continuous-improvement goals of optimal cost, quality, service, availability, and delivery

  • Resolving supplier performance issues (cost, quality, delivery) in support of company objectives, determining proper corrective actions to defective and unacceptable goods and services, and escalating issues in a timely manner to management when needed Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies

  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors.

  • Manage day to day transactional and administrative issues relating issuing RFQ/RFP’s, supply agreements, PO variances, and vendor set up.


  • Demonstrated experience creating and managing feasible and balanced supply plans, in accordance with demand, to support targets consistent with customer requirements for short, medium and long-term capacity planning

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships and collaboration key stakeholders

  • Ability to proactively diagnose and address potential issues in supply shortage or customer service interruption (e.g. resource requirements planning constraints)

  • Possess a 'customer - first' mindset to understand customer needs and exceed customer expectations

  • Possess a strong understanding and awareness of the principles of extended Supply Chain management and fundamentals of Supply Chain design and strategy

  • Data mining reporting skills through MS-Excel; specifically, V-lookup and Pivot tables

  • Ability to drive continuous process improvements and lead small scale projects

  • Ability to apply appropriate process improvement tools, techniques and Supply Chain metrics to measure, analyze, diagnose and improve future performance

  • Possess a strong attention to detail.

  • Have a strong understanding of a range of production planning and execution systems including experience in Pull/Kanban processes.

  • Strong ERP systems and computer software experience.

  • Manufacturing planning in high volume, discreet manufacturing environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
