Job Description :
The Assistant Controller will report directly to the North America Controller and assist in leading an accounting team, establishing controls, ensuring timely and accurate monthly reporting and tax compliance, and contributing to the operational efficiency of the Company.
The Assistant Controller who joins us will have a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic. This is a high visibility position with an opportunity to make an operational impact and contribute to the continued growth and success of Uniguest.
Requirements:
- Oversee general accounting, AP, AR, inventory, debt, cash management and financial reporting activities.
- Manage general ledger accounting/closing processes in an accurate and timely manner.
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and related details.
- Possess a strong appreciation for data and information integrity, as well as fundamental accounting reconciliation concepts.
- Understand the composition of financial statements and have the ability to provide analytical review; noting trends and providing sound explanations.
- Manage preparation of analysis and reports for management and other internal audiences
- Coordinate annual financial statement audit and preparation of tax returns by CPA firm.
- Develop relationships and communicate with external auditors and tax consultants.
- Be a proactive and high integrity business partner, communicating regularly with management and various departments.
- Work cross-functionally to improve/manage/maintain systems and ensure operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with controls, policies, and procedures.
- Review and implement improvements to systems, controls, processes, policies and procedures.
- Lead, supervise, train and mentor department staff.
- Assist with Treasury function, including debt covenant compliance, cash forecasting and maintenance of insurance policies.
- Help integrate newly acquired companies.
- Perform other duties and special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience
- At least 3 years of experience managing a team.
- SaaS industry experience preferred.
- CPA required
- Proven leadership experience within an accounting/finance team
- Solid background in general ledger accounting, US GAAP and technical accounting
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Ability to work both independently and collaborate in a team environment
- Ability to manage complex issues and competing priorities with the goal of providing practical solutions.
