Job Description :
The Assistant Controller position will have the opportunity to work in all aspects of accounting and related areas in the Corporate office. This position will assist with the overall accounting, reporting, treasury, and P&L reviews, for the organization. The role has wide-ranging responsibilities and will broaden the candidate’s financial services experience and knowledge. This is a new position resulting from growth and will report directly to the VP of Finance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the VP of Finance with all aspects of the month/quarter/year end closing process for the consolidated financials.

  • Reconciliations of corporate balance sheet accounts and proposing adjusting journal entries as needed.

  • Work directly with executive and senior management in preparing shared services annual budgets and monthly budget vs. actual analysis.

  • Oversight and analysis of allocations of enterprise expenses allocated to SBUs.

  • Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Coordinating the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.

  • Supervise Accounts Payable and Procurement departments.

  • Manages day-to-day treasury operations (including banking relationships, cash management, and forecasting).

  • Managing the company’s cash flow and budget forecasting by working in partnership with other finance officers.

  • Maintain enterprise summary schedule for long-term debt; monitor reporting of current vs long-term.

  • Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed and that required reporting is completed on a timely basis.

  • Involvement in strategic initiatives, including M&A activity, as needed.

  • Be a team leader on various accounting/finance projects as needed.

  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

  • 5+ years progressive accounting experience; cash management experience required.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices.

  • Knowledge of cash management, forecasting, and internal controls.

  • Familiarity with online cash/bank management systems.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Advanced in Excel (Lookups, Pivot Tables, sum if).

  • Ability to prioritize projects, work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills for communicating with executive leadership and external vendors.
