Job Description :
Position Purpose/Summary
The primary responsibilities for this position will be to support the CFO, plan and direct the accounting activities of the department, and perform a broad range of financial accounting and reporting responsibilities. This is a hands-on position and will serve as back-up for accounting staff when required.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing all aspects of accounting including financial reporting, general ledger, subledgers, AR/billing/collections, AP, payroll, fixed assets, taxes.
- Manage, lead, motivate, evaluate and develop the accounting staff.
- Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls in their area and to design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities.
- Execution of judgment to keep projects moving and ensure the right decisions are reached to close the books by deadline each month in accordance with monthly close calendar.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the general ledger, billing, and accounts payable systems used for completion of queries and other ad hoc reporting for both accounting and other internal/external departments.
- Assist in the development and implementation of automation of manual processes or new procedures and features to improve department efficiency and workflow.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in an office environment with the possibility of one off-site meeting for one business week each year. Employee may be subject to some lifting up to approx. 25 pounds on occasion.

Required Qualifications :
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- CPA – Current Exam Candidate (qualified to sit and actively working toward CPA).
- Minimum 2 years audit experience with a Public CPA Firm.
- Minimum 6 years accounting experience including supervisory experience.
- Minimum 4 years managing direct reports.
- Experience with MS Dynamics GP Great Plains required. NetSuite or similar is a plus.
- Experience with a CRM tool is a plus.
- Experience managing day-to-day accounting department responsibilities and monthly close process.
- Experience reviewing and approving journal entries.
- Experience leading an external audit, preparing audit schedules and working with auditors.
- Daily cash management.
- Intercompany Transactions and Reconciliations.
- Experience writing, designing and analyzing consolidated financial statements reports in compliance with US GAAP.
- Balance Sheet Account reconciliations.
- Budget preparation experience, Workday Adaptive Insights software is a plus.
- Experience with system conversions/implementations to new ERP platform.
