Job Description :

The Accounting Manager oversees financial and accounting responsibilities, including accounts payable, expense management, invoicing, budgeting, and reporting. The Accounting Manager directly manages accounting department staff and is responsible for employee performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.

  • Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.

  • Ensures the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.

  • Supports budget and forecasting activities.

  • Collaborates with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.

  • Provides advice and analyses for sales department on client sales projections/RFP collaboration.

  • Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

  • Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.

  • Responds to inquiries from the chief financial officer, controller, and other management team members regarding financial results and special reporting requests such as P&L analyses.

  • Works with the controller to ensure an efficient and timely year-end audit.

  • Assists in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.

  • Assists with preparation of various financial reports.

  • Supports controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.

  • Manages expense reporting system for all employees and reconciles credit card accounts.

  • Approves expense reports for processing, to ensure corporate policies for reimbursement are adhered to.

  • Monitors client performance guarantees and reports to operations and leadership teams.

  • Manages the processing of accounts payable, including obtaining approvals for purchases.

  • Assists in preparing monthly client invoicing and in month end close.

  • Responds to invoicing questions from clients and seeks resolutions to discrepancies.

  •  Works with directors of clinical services to provide clients with requested utilization and cost reports.

  • Assists with cash management.


Required Qualifications :


  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting or related field

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification required

  • Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience

  • Knowledge of business accounting and finance functions

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to address individuals and small groups

  • Demonstrated experience and success in organization and time management

  • Computer literacy, including knowledge of software applications and familiarity with MS Office, MS Excel, internet, and various financial applications
